Did you know why Google bought YouTube: A Single Video

YouTube as we all know is a video sharing website with its headquarter located in San Bruno in California, United State. YouTube was created by former PayPal Employees Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim in the year 2005 and in the year 2006, they sold it to Google for the sum of $1.65 billion.

Why Did Google Actually Bought YouTube?

The answer to this question lies in the enormous collection of YouTube itself. A YouTube video actually one of the very first videos uploaded on the website. Wojiciki a Google employee who was Google’s SVP for AdSense and Adwords now YouTube CEO led the search engine giant to Acquire YouTube. She was assigned the duty to run Google video plan and as well look into options that will develop the project. On her Search, she luckily came across a video which was uploaded in April 11 2006 by two Chinese Boys “BSB” who was lip-syncing to “As Long As You Love me” a music by Backstreet Boys.

Wojcicki founding the video interesting and impressed, she realized its potentially an entertainment quotient, here is what she said “That was the video that made me realize that “Wow, people all over the world can create content, and they don’t need to be in a studio.”
